Food and Design Come Together as Sacramento Welcomes Terra Madre

Every connection has the potential to spark something bigger. For Eríc Martínez and Dennis Delgado, that spark came through CLTRE’s network. What began as a conversation between a chef and a designer has grown into a collaboration that will represent Sacramento at one of the most important culinary gatherings in the world.

When Terra Madre arrives in Sacramento, Eríc, the chef behind Crispín Supper Club, and Dennis, an acclaimed industrial designer, will open the doors to a dining experience that tells a story of land, culture, and community. It is a story born from a city investing in its creative economy and two creators who found each other through that vision.

Terra Madre, created by Slow Food International, draws chefs, farmers, and cultural leaders from every continent. It is known for honoring heritage, championing sustainability, and exploring how food can connect people to place. Hosting it in Sacramento shines an international spotlight on the region’s food culture. For Eríc and Dennis, it is a chance to put the city’s story on a plate and invite the world to the table.

Eríc’s menu is shaped by the agricultural richness of the Sacramento Valley and the cultural influences that defined his cooking. Dennis is designing a space that mirrors those layers, using material and form to honor the land and the people who nourish it. Together, they are creating an experience where food and design speak in one voice.

This collaboration is also proof of what CLTRE’s EveryDay Creative program was built to do. Supported by the City of Sacramento, the program invests in entrepreneurs and the networks that allow their ideas to grow. Through the program, Eríc gained seed funding and a community that opened doors, including the one that led to Dennis.

That investment has now grown into a project representing Sacramento on a global stage.

“CLTRE’s network pushes you to stay creative, I am glad I have made this connection with Dennis. He understands my mission and brings a certain type of design that’s shaping the future of food.”

For Dennis, the project is equally meaningful.

“Design helps shape lasting experiences. Eríc showed me food as a new medium of expression. My job is reimagining what’s possible, creating something Sacramento has never seen. This collaboration only happened because of CLTRE’s network.”

As Terra Madre approaches, Eríc and Dennis are putting the finishing touches on the supper, ensuring every detail reflects their shared vision.

Tickets are available now through the Crispín Supper Club website.
