Announcement – CLTRE: EveryDay Creative Program

Aug 4, 2024 | CLTRE, CLTRE Making, News

We are thrilled to introduce the CLTRE: EveryDay Creative program, an eight-month journey dedicated to empowering BIPOC entrepreneurs within the creative economy. As an organization that deeply values creativity and innovation, we are incredibly excited about the opportunities this program offers. With expert mentorship, tailored training, a storefront residency, and substantial financial support, we aim to provide an immersive experience that transforms creative projects into impactful ventures. This program is not just about fostering creativity; it’s about creating a sustainable path for talented individuals to thrive in their craft and contribute meaningfully to our vibrant community.

The CLTRE: EveryDay Creative program stems from an on-going partnership between CLTRE, Creative Startups, and the City of Sacramento’s Office of Arts and Culture. Building on the success of the 2023 pilot program, we are implementing a three-pronged strategy to ensure creative entrepreneurs in Sacramento are a part of a thriving ecosystem:

  1. Strengthening and Expanding The Creative Ecosystem: Within a two-years timeframe, strengthen and expand the ecosystem of creative entrepreneurs in the Creative Economy.
  2. Developing A Creative Impact Capital Fund: Design and pilot an integrated impact capital fund for diverse creative entrepreneurs demonstrating growth potential.
  3. Establishing A Sustainable Funding Model: Leverage funding to engage regional and national sustainable funding sources.

This program, funded by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, is designed to help businesses run by people of color, people with disabilities, veterans, and those in low-to-moderate-wealth communities throughout Sacramento access more resources to start, grow, and create jobs.

The program also offers mini ($1,500-$5,000) and small grants ($7,500-$10,000) to early revenue generating businesses. These grants will be provided to entrepreneurs who successfully complete our program, and present a well-considered use of funds to solve early stage challenges.

In addition to supporting very early stage businesses, a percentage of the funding will be allocated to invest in participants demonstrating high likelihood of success in scaling. These investments may be loans or shared revenue agreements and will be between $10,000-$25,000 each.
